Thanks for the comments! He worked in the commercial art field doing dept store ads and than moved on to do design , Illustrations , renderings and design for some trade show companys. He did alot of Pastels and Pen/ ink at home. The automobiles in watercolors were something he wanted to try being that watercolor was so difficult to work with . He did these in 1986 and maybe a few in 87. After that he never did a Watercolor again. He worked on and off each day on them and says he has anywhere from 40 to 80 hours into each one. Spoke wheels were esp difficult. Watercolor has NO white paint , so to make anything look shiney or have tiny detail the tranparant wash has to be done exact as you can not cover mistakes.
