You're going to have to stick your hand up there and see what holds it in place. The only thing I'd say for sure is the frame has an edge up there and the tex attaches to it. There are various ways they did this. Typically the metal edge has a channel in it (like a "J" shape) and then the edge of the material has a similar shape, done in plastic and sewn onto the edge of the material. The channel sewn on to the material will "give" a little (because the material, in this case the tex) will stretch so you can push this plastic channel off the metal lip.
Be a little careful, on older cars they used sharp metal barbs to simply hook the material on to the frame, if you feel pointy barbs up there buy a box of bandaids.
