P/S pumps do not fail. You just need to remove the pump and replace the $5.00 seal. Also make sure your P/S fluid hoses are tightened and not leaking.
Your ASR issue is even more bizarre than mine, so I will be paying very close attention to this thread. Welcome to the realm...
