I don't think it can have an effect on residual pressure since the return lines are open to the fuel tank.

Get return lines from the Buy Parts link at the top of the page. The right material lasts long enough that the cost doesn't matter. There's nothing to keep an eye on in the return lines until fuel leaks outside the lines.
