The OEM pads are semi-metallic. Pep Boys pads are a different compound. They may last a lot longer, but you will have to live with the groaning, and they most likely will not perform as good as the OEM. The OEM pads may realease a lot of dust and not last as long, but I think they perform flawlessly.
