My experience with Toyotas have been towards the negative. They charge a fortune for parts compared to MB, they drive like a soul-less tin can, and are ugly. My in-laws have been dealing with the evil 2002 Rav4 for a while now, and they're trying to get rid of it. (Fatal transmission issue plagues that year/model)
Our gasser MB has been much more reliable than their Rav4 has, and theirs only had 89k when they bought it. It now has 105k and is on its second transmission. My 300E is rolling on to 139k soon with 0 issues, and lately its been getting even better MPG's... (almost 23!)
