I put a set of Bilstein HD's on my '99 E300 last fall and wish I had gone with the stock shocks. Handling is great on smooth roads and at speed on Interstates but very harsh - jarring even - on rough pavement. I may try putting standard shocks in the front, leaving the HD's in the back because of the 20 gallon veg tank in the trunk.
