MOSFET = Metal Oxise Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (hey look, university does come in useful!) and generally gives better quality amplification.
I don't like Pioneer units, I find them a little confusing to use. Most modern units sound noticeably better than units from just 4/5 years ago - I guess they're fitting better quality amps. No match for an external one though

That 8400 Pioneer looks very nice, not too cheap though!
Benzonline - how does the browsing work on that player? My Kenwood MP6090 is not so simple as I hoped, and annoying as you can't browse the names of the tracks, only the folders, and you can't browse at all while playing the CD.
