Twice now, my 1990 500sl has gotten confused about whether the hardtop or softtop is on it. I'll have the top down and try to put the softtop up. The car pulls the top door down, like it does when removing the hardtop. When this happens I have to manually open the top door, pull the softtop up a little, then use the button to raise it.

I assume there is a switch somewhere which controls the hardtop on/off state. Can someone point me to where it is?
