You don't see it very often, so when people do see it, it is quite a spectical worth noting.
2 or more Mercedes is cool - when you see 3-5 Mercedes all in a line following each other, now That is a Sight! Heads Do Turn! You get a lot of double/triple takes from everyone on the road and on the side of it!
Drive a nice old Mercedes down a 2 lane road and watch all those old timers take double takes so many times it is a wonder they don't get dizzy! :-)
A few of the younger generations look too.
In this area when my brother follow each other, we get lots of looks!
His car, a 1985 500 SEL European with the special European headlights and alloy wheels and me in my Apple Green 1974 240D, yeah we get lots of looks.
Once, we were following two other Mercedes on the highway. You want to talk about everyone looking! But that time I had my 78 240D.
Here in Michigan plates are rated Price wise by weight for vehicles 1979 and older. 1980 and above is rated by the original cost of the car.
So, it pays to own an older vehicle. Those poor folks lucky enough to drive a vehicle in the 2000's pay very dearly for that little square stick'em tag on that plate! Upwards of $300 dollars!
My old-timer 1978 is only 32 dollars and so is my F-250 Camper Special Ford truck! And that 1974, they must have just gone with the Ohio ratings, still cheap!
I left that Ohio plate on the front end. For those readers in Ohio or Michigan, you know what that plate means! WAR! So I have a Michigan plate on the back and a Ohio on the front.
Ohio cops are nicer that way! :-)
