Yup. I read somewhere that he had been evaluated as having 'revenge issues' a couple of months or so before the incident. The recommendation was that he be reassigned, which he was not.

It's a tough one. The unwritten code of 'manliness' is going to discourage any man in any conflict from either staying out of battle or recommending that someone else stay out of battle.

I wouldn't be so down on this guy if I hadn't read of some of his abusive, mindlessly violent behavior prior to his service.
