I get calls about people wanting to stick a regular OTA antenna (looks like a pissed-off porcupine) on their units but they claim the HOAs and trailer parks have covenants prohibiting them...yet they allow the little pizza-pan sized satellite dishes...

I let them know that the SCOTUS had already ruled on that and in short, "A rose is a rose..."

In essence, an antenna is an antenna by the FCC's definition and the SCOTUS upheld it.

So, by definition, if they have been allowing the vehicle/dealer branding (form of advertising) and aren't able to provide proof that they have been enforcing the "advertising provision" on vehicles with that particular set of "stickers" attached to each and everyone, then the stickers from the Marine Corps should be allowed to stay on the HRR...god forbid the HOAs figure out that the hubcaps have a "Nash," "Ford," "Chevy bowtie" or even the "Star" embossed on them...

This HOA is opening one big stinky can of worms if there's any attoney worth his snake-skinned jacket willing to pursue the oblivious down this crooked street of reasoning...

Someone needs to run against Mr. Busybody and can his ash...then nit-pick him to an earlier grave...see if he enjoys being on the wrong side of the rules...
