Back again, replaced the crank sensor and still having the same issues as before. I re tested the Idle and full throttle contacts with the ignition on. Here is what I found there (when this issue started these were reading fine)
Idle contact - deflected the air flow plate and no change, duty cycle remains at 70%, supposedly I need to test the throttle valve switch, could this cause my issue? and how do I go about the test. I have the mercedes discs, but my CD drive is on the fritz, so I cant load them!
Full throttle - around mid throttle the duty cycle climbs to 90%, then at wide open throttle it rests at 80%
Still having the issue of the duty cycle running right up into the 90% range, up to 99%, the only way the car will run. I tried to get it back down to 70%, and it runs, but real rough.
I would totally hate to have to bring this in to a garage. I bought the w124 for its reliability and relative simplicity and it is driving me nuts.
