The earlier cars with the USA-only headlights required wipers that rotated the opposite direction and in a different pattern. They will not even mount to the euro lights.
In addition--and this applies to original poster, too--the installation of the the correct wiper motors for Euro headlights requires replacement of the sheet metal below the headlights, too, as the wiper shafts come through at a different place.
For those that don't want to go to all the trouble, the 260E didn't come with headlight wipers at all and consequently sheet metal for them has no hole.
