yeah i am aware of that, I purchased an 87C thermostat. but I feel I should give this "burping" technique a try because I've never done it before and seems like something that should be done.
all I did today was:
1. replace reservoir
2. drain at bottom of the radiator with reservoir cap off
3. drain at crankcase under the exhaust manifolds with the 14mm bolt on cylinder head off
4. replace the thermostat
5. recapped, rebolted, tightened everything.
6. refilled the reservoir, got about 1.75 gallons in through there.
7. recapped the reservoir and started the car, checking for leaks.
I didn't do any of this burping business and car seems to run hotter than I think it should be.
