We're very happy with the Panasonic plasma that we bought in Dec.

Be careful viewing them in the stores. My impression is that in a bright store, the LCD TVs pop because they're brighter. But the contrast is relatively poor - you can't see the detail in the dark areas of the picture.

If you will be watching in a bright room, LCDs may be the ticket. Ours is in a darkish room, and I prefer the greater depth of the plasma.
