my two cents
Fulcrum, living well is the best revenge.
If EVERYONE's pay is cut, and that's why everyone is still working, then that might be the only way currently for the company to survive.
I'll agree that it sucks they didn't tell you, but that's just bad management on any level and it happens all the time. By itself, not a reason to quit.
Personally, in your shoes, I would look for another job and just be very low key about it, doing your work even better than most. Be noticed as slightly better than average, and when you quit, it might sirprise them to the point that they find a way to re-establish your original income level. If they don't, well you have the new job. If they do, you have the option to stay AND you can tell them that their poor communication and management made your personal financial planning too unpredicatble and you needed stability for your personal plans. Then thank them and wish them good luck.
Because no one EVER does this, they will think you're a gentleman and not realize that you put one over on them.
you will have the last laugh and they won't even know....
So hurry up and find another job and start the fun at their expense...
