I've never bought into that notion that much myself, the one about heavy vehicles being the best. Some heavy vehicles tend to roll over easier than smaller vehicles, don't stop as fast, don't corner as well.
It's hard to argue that a car weighing 6 K isn't going to do better than a 3 K car in a head on collision. But there are so many factors involved that it's not usually so clear cut.
