I love how these people who tailgate and dice through traffic, 99% of the time end up being right next to (or just a few cars ahead of) me at the lights. All that wasted gas and wear-n-tear for absolutely nothing. You’d think they’d figure it out. Which brings us back to Common Sense 101.

It'd be funny if it wasn't such a PITA. I see it all the time on the freeway. Some nimrod tailgating, abruptly changing lanes, just being a one person hazard and they end up exiting a mile or two later, and they're at least 20 or 30 seconds ahead of me. Yeah but dude, life is short, mannn.
Another one that kills me, or kills them rather, is the way motorcyclists like to buzz between two cars next to each other in adjacent lanes, traffic is moving at 55 mph + and these guys whizz past my door, a foot or two away, doing 65 to 70 I'm guessing. Not sure about the rest of the nation but around here, cyclists are allowed to driving on the bots dots, centerline, whatever, to pass if traffic is all but stopped. Argument is that air cooled bikes need some movement or they'll stall from overheating, providing one more bit of blockage to slow traffic.
But speed racers get a rush, apparently, from doing 70 to 80 even in heavy traffic. It has to be tough for an officer in a car trying to apprehend such people as only a bike could catch them.
I saw a guy dead on the Bay Bridge a few minutes after he'd passed me doing that in traffic going about 30 mph. A few people were around him, a bit numb that they were looking at a dead man. I've read of others dying under similar circumstances.
