I left work later than I like to (3:30 instead of 1:30) in DC yesterday. I wanted to head back to NY. I spent about 2.5 hours fighting traffic on Rt 7 trying to get to US -15 in Manassas. I finally got to the 15 and sat in more construction. This stank but it was no the bad part.

I made it to near Gettysburg on the US 15 when I got a flat tire. I pulled over to the shoulder and jacked up the truck. I was in the Suburban. I was working on getting the tire off the truck when a car pulled up behind my truck. a guy got out ad asked if I needed help. While he distracted me a second guy snuck up behind me and STUCK A KNIFE IN MY BACK! I was powerless to stop them from grabbing my wallet! They grabbed the cash and threw the wallet into the grass then took off. They got around $65. I got a tear in the back of my shirt and a small cut.

I also got to finish changing the tire...

I did not see the second guy as he went behind the truck and the noise of the road kept me from hearing him.

If anybody stops to "help" you in the side of the road, get your back to the vehicle and grap a weapon. If I had been able to swing the tire iron, things would have been different.

I have stopped and helped people on the side of the road, but I will think twice about stopping from now on. If I do I will stand far from the driver and show him or her that I have no weapons before trying to help.
