Can't comment on whether it's normal to notice the cycling. I certainly do in all my cars - but none of them are/were V8 engines.

The car has been in Minnesota for approx. 1 year. Before, it has spent its entire life in Texas. The only AC service I've done on the car at all is a coolant flush since its been in MN. Not sure if that is an area of concern or not. Thanks for the replies!
