I installed one of those Zirgo 16 inch electric fans a few year ago, they are made in china. they are junk. I bought it off e-bay,along with the temp probe that is suppose to fit inside the upper radiator hose.
There is no way it will fit like the directions say w/o leaking. I thought it was a goofy set up from the start.
The Fan started to make a lot of noise after about a year. seemed a bearing went out.
I bought a 16 inch Spal electric fan like the hot rod guys use. I was talking to the vender at the Good Guys car show. he said Zirgo uses a bearing and a bushing in the shaft, and the bushing usually craps out.
I have used this fan for over 2 yrs w/o any problems. I wired it in using a MB relay I picked up from PNP and wired it in nxt to the one under the black plastic box on the drivers fender next to the AC fan relay. looks all stock.
I then installed a MB red temp sensor, screwed in on the thermostat housing that turns on at 100C. also have a back up switch to turn it on.
The fan rarely turns on with in town driving, and never comes on driving on the highway. The temp stays with in operating limits.
I have read all the fears of over heating the engine, that the engine driven fan should never be removed. etc... etc....
