I would run Windows Update if you haven't and install all recommended updates. Keep running the service until there is nothing left to update. Keep you printer plugged in and powered up while doing so.

After all that, reboot with printer unplugged. Then after you have logged in, plug in printer and power up. See what happens then.

Reason being is that you may be lacking some critical updates and/or drivers.
Agree completely. I understand there are some Enterprise issues, but that is hardly a concern for most home users.
