Drill out thread taking precautions as to where shavings go, clean up the hole and the underside...
Take a 3" M8 bolt, and grind half the head off at one side--sufficient to allow the bolt to fit upwards into the drilled out hole...
Apply a good 'JB-Weld' type epoxy to bolt where its in contact with housing, and fit.
The 'Poxy will keep bolt in place when removing nut for filter-changes, but the main 'holding force is on the half-moon bolt-head...
Re-fit lid with new gasget and Do Not Overtighten in future!
