Wide discrepancies exist in our great land between cost per patient vs. outcomes per patient.
Some, no make that many, people in private biz, doctors, big Pharma, and HMOs included, are rip-off artist sharks. At least with Whole Foods, you get a snazzy looking store and a happening hot food and deli counter to go along with their high prices.
If rich people want way more medical tests than they need, and transplanted organs aplenty, I'm all like 'have at it.'
But we are bankrupting this country behind the notion that whatever the doctor says is gospel, no matter what it costs. It's outta control.
