If you have the pushbutton unit, you can extract codes from it. I don't know the procedure for your car off the top of my head and the manual isn't here, so hopefully someone else will come up with it. Unless you can find it with a search, that is.

Typically you read the codes (write them down) and then clear them as the last step before you turn off the key.
