Survived our first tornado.

Had an F1 ("weakest" tornado) touch down in our town Friday about 4:45. I can't believe the hail didn't break the windows or windshields. Crazy stuff! We don't get them up this way, I can't imagine what it must be like living in tornado alley and "strong" tornadoes. Amazingly no one was killed or injured.

A friend and daughter were driving home from a summer soccer practice when she couldn't see anymore so she pulled over. A tree fell on their van between the front seats and second row, lowering the roof by about 2'. 6" more either way and it would have been ugly. Nothing more than a few scratches.

We were very lucky, didn't have any real damage. I did have an 80' pine punch a few holes in my neighbor's garage and another one clip another neighbor's shed. It just took 150+ yo trees and either pushed them over or clipped the tops right off. Obviously there are more important things, but it's tough seeing those lost. We got power back about 3pm yesterday and the town is about 95% restored right now.

The house across the street, tree managed to miss two houses but tore the new electrical services and the siding that they were attached to completely off the house.

Down the street, blown over through garage.

My boss' old house, amazingly no broken windows just ripped the porch off.

Few streets over.

This house is two streets over. It really was sickening to see (I couldn't get myself to take a pic so I sent my kids back). The lady was closing the window to the left of the trunk when she heard a 'crack' and ran.
