The automatic locking is consistent down to the second i would think a malfunctioning part or short would not be consistent. I have had the entire interior out of this car there are no after market parts also had door panels off. strange thing is when you shut the car off and get out the doors unlock and it does the same thing within 15 seconds the doors/trunk lock automatically except the drivers door! I just want to beable to lock them when i want to. i want no auto locking feature ! my 86 bmw does not lock unless its told to and doesn't used vacuum either course its only a 3 series
