I even tried adding a vac/pressure line to the drivers door lock on my car and then it would work if I activated the pump in the trunk (I did this as a test for a remote door lock but it turned out to be easier to add a solenoid control to the lock knob in the drivers door).
I would take the door panel off and look up at the shaft going from the knob to the key lock to see if anything was added. Even if the pump ran from a short it wouldn't lock the drivers door.
People keep saying this in all the threads but my 1985 300sd has a vacuum line to the driver door that will lock it from either the trunk or the passanger front door. also locks when the car locks by itself. There is nothing pulling down on the lock nor is there any other malfunction in the system its just a stupid design. wtf would you put auto locking doors on a car than can lock the keys in the ignition?!?!?!?!?
