Well it went to the dealer today and we got it back this afternoon. Brand new battery under warranty

and essentially a free transmission service. The SA was really great...after we discussed the problem she said she was going to put down on the work order that the tech should check a connector on the trans that commonly leaks. Apparently they found that it was leaking and replaced it along with a marginal pan gasket. New fluid, filter and gasket under warranty
Unfortunately the new battery didn't fix the problem we brought it in for. Worked fine for about three or four starts while doing errands but on the last start before driving home it did it again...no crank and ESP/ABS malfunction message. After about seven or eight attempts at cranking, it finally cranked and I drove home with no issue. Going back to the dealer at 8am tomorrow to pull the new codes and hopefully fix...
