Thanks. True, I could not even get the floormat out last night. It was like it was stuck around the accelerator and would not budge. I made sure it was free from around the kick-down button, but it still would not come out.

I tried squeezing that horizontal clip looking thing on the bottom of the pedal last night when I tried, but it would not budge. It would squeeze, but I still could not get it to move.

Can you tell from these photos if it looks like the pedal itself is broken? I will try again when I get a chance....

Yeah, my floor is soiled.

Oh, I had already pulled the rubber overlay off of it last night. The new pedal is all one piece.
