Ok, here is the copy and paste: BTW, M.B. DOC-thanks for the torsion bar info on the w163. A buddy and I changed out the cat on the family vehicle a couple of weeks ago.
Everything is pretty much in the movies, but here it is also:
When opening, the shelf will not raise itself. I have to manually do it. The "wings" on the side usually get caught on the roll bar and so I have to make sure they are clear. You can also see that the "wings" stay up and that there is a large space between the shelf and the trunk lid. I attached a picture. I might be missing a cable or the cable is in the incorrect place.
When closing, the same thing with the shelf. It need to be manually moved. Also on the passenger's side, the hinge gets caught on the metal bar that moves down. You can see me fonze it to get it to clear.
If you can help me out with this, I would really appreciate it. I rarely put the roof down because of this and that makes so sense when owning a slk. Sorry about the shakey video and the grunts of disgust!
