Correct, though I've seen plenty of others of that ilk over the years.

Among the physical evidence that was covered were strange implants embedded in the patient's nervous system in such a way that it wouldn't cause any inflammation but it would arouse the patient even under anesthesia when the implant is touched. Do you know of any DIY-ers who can do install such devices in their own bodies?

Not only do I not know of such I dont believe the accounts. In which hospitals were the existance of these implants confirmed to exist? What doctors confirmed them? In which medical journals were the incidents written up? Absent such evidence it's simply tabloid TV.

I'd encourage you to see the documentary or at least open your mind a bit.

My mind is perfectly open. It simply requires evidence. That evidence has to stand up to scientific scrutiny, that's what makes it science.

Are you saying there's no possible way there's intelligent life on any other planet in the universe? Why not?

On the contrary, I'm completely open to the possibility. Though in keeping with the scientific tradition I require evidence for which there is currently none.
When I was a kid around 12 - 13 years old or so I was big into this kind of stuff. Used to get a set of magazines called "The Unexplained" which pushed the whole UFO/Abduction, alternate dimention, LochNess Monster, Bigfoot, Ghosts what have you scene.
However I was also interested in Astrononmy (not astrology) and thru that interest came upon Carl Sagan's TV series "Cosmos" in the 80's. And his books. I quickly realised that if there is ever going to be any evidence for such paranormal stuff it will be found by science. Those who wish to believe absent scientific evidence will conduct their quest outside the boundries of science which right away puts them in crank land in my opinion.
As for extraterrestrial life. As I've said before I think it's quite possible but despite my fondest wish for it to be so there is, so far, not a shred of evidence for it's exisitence that stands up to scientific scrutiny. And scientists have been searching actively for it for some time.
For those that think government scientists are covering up the evidence out of concern for public reaction. I'll simply point out that the vast majority of scientists, especially in the fields of Astronomy and Physics don't work for the government but for Univerities or research institutions, some of which are completely private. They are not going to keep quiet and sit on the biggest discovery, not just of their carreers but in all of human history, should they actually find something.
If you are really interested in what scientists think about this, at least those who don't dismiss it outright as cranks gone wild. you'd do yourself a great service by reading those two books I mentioned, preferably in that order. Sagan was a leading scientific force in SETI. The Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence. And that effort is still ongoing today.
So far, no sign.
