No; I think the 639 is a rain gutter mount. I would NOT drill holes in any car to mount a roof rack, and I don't think Thule makes any that require drilling. I have never owned a W126, so i don't know how the Thule system mounts, but I can vouch for Thule's overall build quality and design. Do you have a bike shop nearby, or a big sporting goods place? I'm sure they can explain how the Thule would mount up. You can also buy online and save quite a bit.
