Why is it impossible to find a Haynes book or CD-Rom or stone tablet or any fricken' form of a repair manual for my 1996??? Is this a conspiracy by MB to keep their service departments in POWER???

I have decided to go ahead with my suspension project on my own. I got a lift at work and a buddy with spring compressors, etc. These "professional" mechanics are nuts! I got 3 different quotes...from $1,500 to $3,000! And that's with me supplying all the parts. Don't think so. Labor intensive? Bring it on! I just need a GD book!! Anybody got a source? Thanks.
