Another update - I worked on the pedal a few minutes ago... after about blowing a gasket and having a stroke, fighting mosquitos, etc.

It appears that I didnt have the rod in the hole of the pedal and it was only the edge of the tab. I liked to have NEVER got the hole in that tab onto the rod linkage. After finally getting so agitated, I pressed on it with all of my might and it finally went on.

I THINK I finally got it on there and correctly. Here are some photos... any input as if this is correct appreciated...

ruined my shoes....

by having to lay the tops of my shoes in this crap, with my knees on the ground as I reached for the pedal.... the concrete part of the driveway would have probably been worse. Wah, wah, wah.

I park the car here, rather than on the concrete because this is the easiest place I can park the car... its wet because I had washed some car parts from my other old car I am restoring.

The first miles I drove it today, all seemed fine, but the pedal was harder to push than the old pedal and it didnt seem to be springing back up all the way, which I discounted as it being a new pedal. When I got into town, at idle, when I would let off of the brake without depressing the pedal, it would want to "go" more than normal.... with that said, I took my foot and tried to pull up the pedal, but I messed something up, because then I liked to have never got the car to accelerate. My trip back was a SLOW GO and I prayed at every traffic light I came to that it would stay green.

I looked at it when I got home and it dont "look" right. I dont have time to check it again until this evening, but I am wondering if either I didnt install the pedal correctly, or if something else was the issue all along? Perhaps something under the hood is damaged? I will check the pedal again later and report back.
