I would doubt that the clamps are the issue with the new data. Although a real cheap clamp will deform under load and possibly grip in a non-uniform fashion, NAPA's clamps should be adequate to the task with the socket drive.
Take a look at the housing and see if it has any areas of built up corrosion that need to be sanded off prior to the installation of the hose. If it's a coarse surface, the coolant is provided with a path...........
