What I need to do: Move the engine 1/2 an inch

Why: After replacing the motor mounts, I lowered the engine down onto the new mounts, only to find that the holes for the center bolts that hold the mounts to the engine no longer line up. They are about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch off.

What I have tried: Jacking up the engine in different places, trying by hand to push the engine (then with a friend) and then with a friend with the engine jacked up. Did it move? not really I just don't want to try something "drastic" and end up breaking something. Any ideas on how to do this safely?

And if it matters, my car is an 84 300d
