Now it sounds like the blower bearing has started to freeze up. This will cause your latest symptoms.

The fresh-air duct is at the top of the evaporator housing, where it connects to the heater box just under the air inlets in front of the windshield. The only way I've ever had access to it is when the whole unit is out of the car - dash removed, of course. But check out the blower first; it's a more-likely cause and easy to change.
