I did a quick search on "Fogging". What I found is that it is an Engine Preservation technique to keep things lubed an preserved (helps prevent rust) while the Engine is not used.
Amsoil even sells "Fogging Oil" in a spray can.

This is a real problem as Folks who only take there boat out for a ride ounce a month and let the Engeine sit without running it are the ones who indeed have a lot of problems with their Engines. More so if it is a Boat that sits in the Marina surrounded by all that damp air.

I guess that same would apply to a Snowmobile or any other Engine you put up for a long time.

One person said it was not a good thing to do to Indirect Injection Diesel Engines that it could cause damage if ignited.
