This thread is all about favorite rap videos w/MBs in them...not "Do you like rappers & their music?"
Like every music genre, there are good artists and there are wannabees. Rap is no exception.
As old as I am, I should be a music prude (smooth jazz is my favorite), but with an 8-year old daughter, I must listen to the stuff that gets injected into her ears so I can guide her in what is and what's not appropriate. There is a lot of rap that I like, and some that I don't.
As far as the rappers themselves, if you know anything about the music industry, it takes a ton of hard work to be successful, so I give kudos to those who do make it, and those who have tried. The videos and the interviews make it seem like these guys (and girls) just sit around all day drinking champagne and having parties at the pool at their lavish mansions. That, in reality is a very small glimpse of the real lifestyle. But that is what we see, and unfortunately, many young minds believe that this is all it's about.
As far as what they choose to drive, the culture says, you have to appear to be a "big dog", so yeah, you surround yourself with everything that epitomizes success. But like the rest of us who work hard to eventually own that dream MB, if you finally got the money, why not get the Benz you could only dream about many years ago.
And let's be honest. The MB marque exudes status and we all have gotten stares from family, friends and associates alike when we pull up in our MBs (and secretly love the attention).
So as for me, I like any rap video that features MBs in it. There are certainly much more expensive cars to showcase...and they do.
