False logic unsupported by the facts. The truth is, gun ownership and crime don't necessarily correlate. Japan has even less crime than Switzerland, yet it's virtually gun-free. OTOH, Switzerland has more guns than say Germany, but Germany has more crime. OTOH, Canada has fewer guns than the US, but also has less crime. Iraq has very high gun ownership, yet it's hardly polite & stable there. I think what correlates more with violent crime is the culture, education, rule of law, and economic well-being of the people. There's too much scum in the US for there to be unregulated guns. We do have some gun regulation, but things like background checks and licensing should be more strictly enforced and penalties for violations should be increased. It's still way too easy for a violent idiot to get a gun in this country.
