I've had good luck w/Ford 350. Have owned non-turbo and early (97) PowerStroke. Both were good vehicles. Back in the day I travelled this country and worked as a landscaper. No matter what the rest of the fleet would be (at the numerous companies I worked for) the one tons were almost always Ford. Of course this was a long time ago, but when it came time for me to buy a one ton truck, I banked on the preferences of the guys who used them and used them hard. Served me well.
