Actually, I have only looked at 5-speeds. I am absolutely with you on this issue.

The only thing that is tempting about the automatics, though, is that there are some real always-garaged, dealer-serviced-every- 5000 cream puffs out there.

I have thought more than once about one of these cars and doing a transmission swap from my beater.
