I would recommend anyone not familiar with working on Cars and Diesels in particular to take a basic class in them as knowing how something works is a big advantage when it comes to troubleshooting.
Community Colleges have them and often they have classes on Sat and at night.


I passed the site on (there is a lot of them out there) as each week we have new forum members who have had little or no experience with working on their Cars.
Even if you buy the CD Service Manual Set it does not deal with troubleshooting common Stuff like Charging, starter and Brake problems.
I guess the Service Manual expects you to know that stuff already.

And, apparently Mercedes a Cars that unless you have a lot of money you really do need to work on yourself.
