Is this "surging"

A few days ago my car developed a terrible viration at idle. When I say terrible I mean holding my steering wheel is like holding onto a jack hammer. It's very apparent when I put it into reverse and a little less so in drive and N. This morning I started my car and the idle speed was going up and down, speeds up for a second, then slows, speeds up, slows.................what the Hell is going on? This is all I have done. I did a purge, which for the first time turned the lubro moly BLACK, checked for air leaks under the hood and under the car. Checked flex disc's, and support bearing (look fine to me), I also checked the motor mounts, they need to be changed but are still doing their job based on visual inspection and the engine does not move when I shut down or give it fuel while braking while in drive. This condition happened "overnight" and was not a gradual onset. The "surging thig, if that what it was kinda freaked me out. Ideas?

Thanks
