It was a kit .177 cal gun that I bought about thirty yrs ago and is still very accurate although, hell on scopes due to the double recoil. I found a Simmons scope I am pleased with.

The .177s are cheap fun, the .22 cal is loud, more expensive to shoot.
Correct spring guns are hell on regular scopes. You can buy one designed for a spring gun.
