Shell Rotella 5w40 is the best synthetic oil you can buy right now. It carries both a diesel and gasoline rating. I've been using it on my 190e, 318i and 2 volvos for a couple of years. One of the volvos just went past 200k miles. I change it once a year or every 10k miles. You can't go wrong with this stuff.
