bobistheoilguy forum. These guys take samples from the crankcase and send it in to be analized by a lab for various wear metals and the rate at which the additives in the oil discipate. I'll warn you now, you could spend hours reading through than various results. I find it interesting but some of these guys are REALLY into it.
I like this oil specifically because it has a diesel rating and an older SM gasoline rating and NO api "energy conserving" logo. Basically the latest api formulations are all about fuel economy and protecting the catalytic converter. Engine wear protection has taken a back seat. SJ and newer oil ratings aren't necessrily bad, just not what I'm looking for.
You can find results for just about every oil on the market.
