Warren, your description is a bit cryptic. Is the part located toward the front or rear of the engine block? You describe the part as having "2 lines going into it." That leads me to believe that these lines are not electrical wires, but tubes perhaps. Is that what you mean? Everything at the back of the engine has electrical wires attached to it, and they're mostly temperature sensors. At the front is a part called thermo vacuum valve, which has two rubber elbows connected to it, that are fitted to two plastic tubes. Providing a photo would clarify things.
